Join us in making memories possible for everyone in our local schools and helping students come together. Your generosity will help promote self-confidence, individual beauty, and inclusion among our youth.

Please help our local high school students in Santa Cruz County by donating a gently used prom dress to give less fortunate students a chance to attend their prom this year. Classic Cleaners will collect & clean the dresses, and will distribute them in collaboration with local schools and agencies.

Classic Cleaners will be conducting the annual Coats For Kids Drive during the months of October, November and December.
The drive, which started six years ago by Classic Cleaners owner Pamela Whittington, began with a few hundred coats. Last year, the number grew to 8,000 coats, the most ever for Whittington.
This year, Classic Cleaners' Coats for Kids Drive has teamed up with Second Harvest Food Bank in hopes of collecting food and coats for needy families in the county.
From Nov. 1-5, the countywide Girl Scout Service Unit's Coat for Kids Drive -- made up of the leaders from all troops in the Capitola, Soquel and Aptos areas -- will collect at various locations.
On Nov. 9, Santa Claus and the Santa Cruz Fire Department will be leading a classic car and motorcycle cruise at 7:30 a.m. in the Safeway parking lot on 41st Avenue and collect coats. Santa also will cruise in the fire truck to Whole Foods from 9-11:30 a.m. then out to Safeway on the Westside.
Santa will also be available for pictures and double checking his list.
Donations of gently worn coats or jackets will be taken until Dec. 14.

Santa Cruz's Second Annual Hot Rods for Kids will be held Saturday, August 27, 2011, in conjunction with the 51st Running of the Johnny Key Classic Races at Ocean Speedway at the Santa Cruz County Fairgrounds, 2601 East Lake Ave. in Watsonville.
Hot Rods for Kids is a car show open to all classes of cars that was started in 2010 by Pamela Whittington and her team at Classic Cleaners as a way to raise awareness and much-needed funds for organizations serving children and youth in our community.
Registered cars arrive at 7:00 a.m. and the fun begins at 9:00 a.m. We encourage you to stay for the 51st Running of the Johnny Key Classic Race that begins at 5:00 p.m.
This remarkable event will feature a wide assortment of cars that will impress and attract any automotive lover. While strolling amongst the magnificent array of cars, enjoy food, live music, raffle prizes a kids’ zone and more!

Proceeds from “Hot Rods for Kids” will benefit the Youth Development Services and Family Literacy Programs of the Walnut Avenue Women's Center, a strength-based family resource center providing support and services so women, children and families have the opportunities and skills to thrive.
